The Gilded Birdcage is a stunning event centrepiece for exquisite aerial performances. Decorated with beautifully intricate filigrees and standing at over four meters high, the Birdcage is an incredibly impressive focal point in even the largest of spaces and will transform any room into a decadent and magical environment. Beautiful aerial starlets perform breathtaking routines whilst rotating in the cage and wowing guests from every angle.
This clever prop creates a completely self contained aerial performance space because the artists are suspended from rigging within it. This makes the Birdcage perfect for events which want aerial but do not have rigging within the venue.

There are multiple decoration options available for the giant birdcage. As such we can accommodate a large selection of themes such as Moulin Rouge, fantasy, winter wonderland and enchanted garden.

Your Birdcage Booking - What to Expect
Often we find that people like yourself may never have booked a giant aerial birdcage before. With that in mind, here is a brief run-down of what you can expect on the day of your event. We also have full tech requirements below and if you have any questions don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Birdcage setup:
We will generally have our team arrive with a minimum of two hours to spare before the required set up time. This is to ensure the cage is safely set up and tested without any panic over time, ready for your event.
Where appropriate we will generally look to have a quick tech rehearsal with our aerialist (if we have provided one) to ensure that they are comfortable with any sound and light setup you may have provided. We also have some basic lighting options of our own if needed.
Performances:
If you have booked an aerialist to perform in the birdcage then we will generally have a discussion about exactly what you’re looking for.
All of our aerialists are highly trained and many have attended top circus schools around the world.
We find the cage lends itself best to ambient background performances, perfect for drinks receptions or as a center piece to a room. As such we offer as standard 3 x 15 minute ambient sets.
Pack Down:
Packdown generally takes between 45 minutes and an hour if we are packing down after guests have left. We can do packdowns during a live event if required but they often take longer as we need to introduce extra pre-cautions. If this is something you think you might want then please reach out in advance.
What we require:
This is a brief run-down of the main things we’ll need in order to make your event a success. You can download a full copy of our tech requirements at the bottom of the page.
- We will need clear access from our van to the area in which the aerial birdcage is to be set up. The birdcage collapses into individual poles so we can get through most doors but if you are concerned about access please raise this beforehand.
- We will need to drive a van to your event and so will require parking; we can arrange this ourselves if needed but this option is generally cheaper if we know in advance. If you are providing the parking please note; many car parks are not suitable for vans due to height restrictions.
- Our performer(s) and technician(s) will need a suitable space to be in when they are not performing/working. This should be separate from your guests so they can relax before and between performances. It doesn’t need to be fancy, but should be fit for purpose: dry, warm, secure.
- If our team are required to be at the event for more than five hours they will require refreshment and a hot meal to be provided, or notified that they need to bring their own food with a suitable per diem provided.

Aerial Birdcage Pricing
Note: These costs are the general prices for a single day event lasting no longer than 8 hours from setup to pack down. They do not factor in things like parking or congestion charges or unsociable hours. On the flip side we can also often do better pricing for repeat or multi-day bookings. We encourage you to get in touch for a comprehensive quote.
- For the cage with an aerial artist (most popular) the price is £1,980 (excluding VAT) + 50p a mile from Bristol for travel.
- For just the cage with no performer the price is £1,440 (excluding VAT) + 50p a mile from Bristol for travel.
- For an additional aerialist the price is £540 (excluding VAT)
Each Aerialist will perform 3 x 15-minute sets of hangabout aerial.
